happy Q4 to those that observe
Hi, cuties! Let’s catch up. I’ve been busy with work, travelling, and taking care of myself. To be honest, I’ve been feeling really good, and for that, we celebrate. Here’s what you’ve missed.
🎂 Let’s rewind back to the summer. I turned 31 on August 27th, and I took a full week off of work (something I’ve never done). I spent it in Victoria, BC, with my parents, and it was lovely. I have a feeling that 31 is going to be an amazing year. Victoria is a special place, and every time I go back, I’m taken back by how beautiful and QUIET it is. Mac and I are heading there again in a week for Thanksgiving long weekend. Mac has never been, so I’m excited for him to explore and see my parent’s home. Mac is running in the Victoria Marathon. I’ll be cheering him on.
💸 In September, I filmed my first ‘What I Spend in a Month’ YouTube video since APRIL!!! I needed a break from sharing about my $$$ to make a big purchase (my car). It felt really good to be back. I’m really proud of the progress that I’ve made not only with my investments but also with my overall money mindset.
💒 At the end of September, Mac and I attended our friends Paul & Heather’s wedding in Lethbridge, Alberta. The wedding was stunning, and it was special to see these two tie the knot because we all started dating around the same time when Mac and Paul were roommates back in 2019. P.S. The Norland Estate is the most beautiful wedding venue if you’re looking for one in Lethbridge or nearby!
✈️ As you can see, I’ve been travelling a lot. Quick flights and road trips, but it still takes a lot out of me so I’ve had to be extra diligent at taking care of myself. And the travel isn’t stopping anytime soon. I filmed my post-travel routine to show you how I reset from a trip quickly so I can get back into my routine without missing a beat.
Okay, now that you’re caught up on where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, let’s dive into some current favourites.
Books: The Last Love Note by Emma Grey, When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi and City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert (TW: The first two are about grief, death and literally dying, but they are beautiful reads).
Podcasts: I can’t get enough of Disrespectfully by Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan. They are now recording twice a week which is A TREAT.
Beauty: I recently purchased a Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and it’s been great. I want the Dyson Air Wrap but I’m not quite ready to drop $800 so this will do for now.
Coffee: Nespresso’s Maple Pecan pods. That’s all. Thank me later!!!
Clothes: I’ve been trying to thrift more to cut down on my fast fashion consumption and it’s been fun. I think the key is to go often (I like Value Village) and to be open to whatever you may find! Recently, I’ve thrifted a wool blazer, a Roots sweatshirt, a striped button down and a flowy skirt.
Crafts: I’ve recently started a junk journal (look it up on TikTok!!) and it’s been so fun. I talk about it more in this vlog.

That’s the download for now. I hope you are well! Happy Q4, cuties!
Mel xoxo
